Experts in this TalentCloud should be responsible for leading the company-wide effort for Master Data and providing ongoing leadership, governance, and oversight for master and reference data in support of business needs. Other abilities and experiences include:
- Working with a cross-functional team, the MDM specialist will maintain, analyze, make system /process recommendations and work with business partners to execute policy and process associated with MDM
- MDM Specialists are expected to work closely with the Business Process Experts in order to ensure data quality, compliance, and operating procedures
- Be the main technical point of contact for different Master Data Manage and drive responsibilities to the Master Data team, establishing strong relationships with business contacts, and making decisions based on results
- Work to streamline data from ERP and CRM systems
- Lead the development, updating and maintenance of departmental procedures, tools, and metrics for the master data team
- Monitor and ensure that the Company’s master data business rules, policies, and procedures are adhered to by the Segments across all ledgers and the consolidation system
- Perform user acceptance testing on defect resolution and enhancements
- Mentor and develop direct reports and collaborators embedded in business teams such as Embedded Functional MDM Specialist, Information Architects, and Data Stewards
- Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
- Align data management processes in the business’ value chains and process areas
Required Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional work experience in Master Data Management/Data governance required
- Knowledge of Enterprise-level Master Data Management platforms such as Oracle MDM, Informatica MDM, Stibo Step MDM, Riversand, etc.
- Awareness of MDM trends, MDM Concepts and other technologies in the market
- Develop Data Governance policies and identify gaps in current data management processes and standards
- Sets technical direction for the overall MDM solution architecture, defines component architecture, reviews detailed designs for accuracy and overall compliance of defined architecture across the complete data lifecycle
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional leaders owning different data systems
- Performs MDM technology assessment and selection
- Leads MDM technology implementation
- Maintains business rules and manages metadata
- Manage the ongoing quality and application of data supporting the organization, ensuring high-quality data and appropriate use
- Address inquiries from internal and external teams and investigate and resolve (as needed) data discrepancies
- Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to build confidence in the accuracy and quality of data, and work collaboratively to address perceived gaps in the data
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts. Great at communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial personality and project management skills desired
- Assesses and remediates data discrepancies in completeness, validity, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and accuracy
