DePaul approached Experfy as they were facing a challenge common to a lot of organizations: they have a great product, engaged users and collect tons of data about it, but they don’t benefit from it’s full potential. The solution envisioned was to use Tableau to get the most value from this data.
The Expert arwarded with the project, developed a suite of interactive visualizations to report on student engagement, variety of programs offered, and demographics information. The Expert also gave the ability to users to slice and dice the data. For example, some users might be interested to see if students in different neighborhoods have access to the same type of opportunities. These customizable dashboards are a great way to give relevant information to multiple users. These visualizations give DePaul researchers a better understanding of students learning behaviors. They can quickly identify blockers in the learning process or find which activities are the most engaging. The suite of dashboards is also used as a ‘store front’. Stakeholder (funders, city leaders) don’t always have visibility on the success of the platform, but the work allows them to get a sense of how many students are engaged and measure the impact of their investment. They can for example see KPIs (number of programs, number of students) across cities in one-click.
