We are an integrated system design company based in UK. We provide a communication platform that enables the measurement and control of energy consumption for the metering and lighting markets, helping to reduce energy losses.
We want to open up new revenue streams by applying analytics to the data streams passing through our platform, and selling the resulting BI to our customers.
We have sample data, and a list of ~10 reports which we believe customers would buy.
We need a someone with an analytics background to take our raw sample data and generate professional, visually-appealing reports in PDF format. We will use these PDFs as sales tools in deciding whether to proceed with the report generation revenue stream.
An example of the type of report we are after would be based around electricity supply reliability and would incorporate indices such as SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIFI, CAIDI and MAIFI. We can provide full report briefs to the successful candidate.
The raw sample data is in the form of thousands of small JSON files containing synthetic meter identifiers, timestamps, interruption histories and other reading data. The sample data is deliberately incomplete to simulate the type of interruptions seen in complex, in-field systems. The sample data may require preprocessing, validation, etc. It will likely be necessary to collaborate with us on how gaps in the data set should be handled and presented, what additional data we should look at gathering to support the analytics process, what additional useful reports we might be able to generate from the sample data, etc.
We are expecting as deliverables:
We have no particular technology requirement, but would prefer to be able to rerun the scripts/code without requiring expensive/complex software on our part. i.e. We would prefer solutions in freely available programming languages such as Python, R, Octave, ...
There is potential for an ongoing relationship. We envisage a process whereby we ask the successful candidate to:
