We are a Swiss based consulting company measuring engagement & leadership. We would like to consult with an expert for 1-2 weeks, who has built deep learning models in Rapid Miner, about the research we have just completed regarding Key Engagement Drivers.

We’re looking for senior practitioners (lead/principal data scientist level) who can both lead delivery of projects and help upskill other analytics team members along the way, in order expand the scope of impact that Data Science can have at Vistaprint.

We are a 3-year-old start-up that offers consumers a ground-breaking, personalized and preventative approach to improving their health.  

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to consult on, build and document a workflow for our Business Intelligence pipeline. Success criteria incluces 100% automation, and the ability to transition to a competent staff of [primarily software] engineers.

The business processes data from multiple sources on a daily basis to fuel its growing health and wellness platform.bThe platform currently runs on Spark within AWS, and we are strongly considering using AWS EMR. 

This is a 2-4 month position depending on the depth of analysis and development. 

Project applicants will need to: 

1. Assess the extract process from our set of ~100 relational tables on Postgres into an AWS S3 bucket.Ideally this process will extract only the data that has changed since the previous extraction.Total daily data processed would be less than 1GB. 
2. Recommend, build, and document a solution for both a staging and production environment. 
3. Included with the extraction process, we must include two additional data sources:  (MixPanel – our data partner that collects usage for our mobile apps and dashboards, custom CSV data stored on sharepoint) 
4. Preferably an extraction solution would include instructions for easily adding additional data sources. 
5. Implement and document an EMR job that translates the extractions into a new S3 bucket that can be read using our Data Warehouse platform.  The current setup runs on a single server and we would like to leverage the distributed capabilities of EMR. 

We should consider costs as part of this exercise and consider alternatives if appropriate.  All translations currently exist in python scripts and could ideally be reused. 

We currently use Snowflake to load the data from the S3 bucket and made available in PowerBI to build and run reports.  Either continue to use this existing infrastructure or make a recommendation for a more cost effective and/or scalable solution. 

We require expertise (>3 years of experience) with the following technologies: 

• Postgres 
• Elastic Map Reduce 
• Spark/Hadoop 
• Snowflake (or similar Data Warehousing software) 
• Python (or similar language for loading data) 

 

Milestones 

1. Single use case

• Execute HIPAA compliance agreement and take 20 minute HIPAA training.
• Configure existing environment
• Collect necessary permissions
• Build a single lambda job that extracts a single table (via a view), transforms the data using an existing .sql transform (if possible), dumps the data into redshift (or an agreed upon alternative)
• Verify that data is available from PowerBI

1. Single use case with incremental data

• Implement views on top of Postgres tables to protect against PII/PHI data breach, and to protect against schema changes breaking the pipeline (or alternative approach to address this problem)
• Ensure that only modified data is copied to redshift
• Estimate duration of full ETL, and determine if 15 minute limitation within AWS lambda is appropriate

1. Migrate all existing necessary transforms to new architecture (verify with Ben if any appropriate schema changes should be made) - This includes all three data sources (
2. Build a parallel staging environment, develop release process for lambda functions and/or redshift schema changes (agreed upon by Mark and dev team)
3. Scheduling/automation of pipeline

• Error handling to Sentry/Sumo
• Determine the proper cadence (hourly?)
• Build a test script to verify the success of the full ETL (prod and staging)

Background

We seek a technical data specialist (the “Talent”) with existing technical and functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX. Talent will utilize existing technical and functional knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning system (“Dynamics AX”) to produce the following deliverables, including mapping documentation, business process flow documents with accompanying reconciliation reports that can be leveraged by the Purchaser for the creation of extraction bundles. 

Talent will:

·      Create a document, in a format defined by Purchaser, mapping the financial data elements set forth in Appendix A – Data Elements, to this TOP to Dynamics AX database layer tables, fields, and any relevant system objects for the Accounts Receivable use case. 

·      Create a document that explains the flow of related data through Dynamics AX for each use case, including relevant SQL queries, data models, and accompanying screenshots for relevant business processes.

·      Create and import data to a sandbox environment provided by Purchaser for testing purposes, as necessary.

·      Extract a subset of the sandbox data for the mapped fields and demonstrate accuracy and completeness of the extracted data through documentation of relevant record count and financial reconciliations to Dynamics AX-based reports.

·      Support Purchaser in the creation of data bundles and drafting of additional documentation by being available to provide clarification and answer questions.

 

Assumptions:

·      Talent will have deep technical and functional knowledge of Dynamics AX

·      Talent will have access to Purchaser’s Dynamics AX sandbox / test environment. The sandbox environment may include relevant test data. If relevant test data does not exist, Talent must generate and import test data.

·      Purchaser will provide requirements on the specific type of data that needs to be extracted for each platform at the time of project kickoff.

·      Purchaser will have a project lead who defines the type of documentation needed and can lead knowledge transfer at the end of the project (to ensure Purchaser understands how to make future updates).

·      Talent will not have access to any production systems or real / sensitive data.

·      Talent will be someone who is comfortable digging into the data structure of a specific platform, understanding the data structure / where certain data is stored, and writing logic to extract the necessary data.

·      Talent will be someone who understands data / data extraction well and should be able to quickly learn what they need as part of the project work.

 

Deliverable:

Two weeks of full-time support (40 hours/week) from Talent to perform data extraction tasks for Dynamics AX.

We are exploring the use of deep learning artificial intelligence techniques to add the capability to automatically detect defects in images.

We are a technology company that uses machine learning and data science to deliver a remarkably better leasing experience for commercial real estate.

 

We're looking for someone to develop some image categorization and similarity detection models. Specifically, we want to:

• Identify images that contain certain specific watermarks with very high confidence
•  Identify images that are substantially similar to other images we have (cropping, re-compression, etc)
• Tag images based on whether they are building interiors, building exteriors, contain added text (as opposed to text that naturally occurs within the image), are street maps, are floor plans/architectural drawings, contain a watermark in general (not just the specific watermarks listed above).

 

Deliverable: One or more operarationalizable models. We're guessing the right approach will be some combination of TensorFlow/Keras/OpenCV, but we're open to alternatives. Given working models that meet our requirements, we will handle the associated tasks to put them into production (e.g., creating webservice wrappers, deployment, permissions, etc.)

 

For the similarity search, we want to compute an image fingerprint of some kind and an use an efficient algorithm (FAISS? ANNOY?) to find similar images from within a corpus of hundreds of thousands to several million images. Computing fingerprints of new images, adding fingerprints to the index, and searching the index should all be fast (times in seconds at worst).

The watermark and classification models can be trained off-line, but we will need some way to periodically refresh them. Runtime classification performance should be on the order of a few seconds per image at most ideally. Faster is better.

Models will run on AWS. Images are in S3, metadata is in MySQL but we're happy to create extracts for training. We can provide training images, and our team can tag images as needed.

Refreshing a Tableau workbook with batch processing of named data sources.

We are a full service marketing agency powered by 250+ marketing professionals in seven location in the US.

This project solves consolidated BI reporting of KPIs for global retail client 

Expertise required includes Python development using the Tableau REST API 

The data sources are primarily GA, IBM Digital Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Sprinklr and Amazon Redshift. We already have a tabluea workbook created and the GA data connector is already deployed. Secondary sources include Facebook, Hubspot, Pinterest and POS data

The deliverable is integration code that updates views of a Tableau workbook from named sources with some normalization and blending where applicable.We are using the latest version of Tableau.

Additionally client is moving towards redshift. Once data is consolidated we will have to future proof the workbook by setting up a connection between redshift and Tableau.
